Walking Tacos – The Essential On-The-Road Recipe

Today, I wanted to share my ultimate road trip recipe – Walking Tacos. Though this recipe can be made practically anywhere, it just tastes better while out and about! This recipe is so easy, it doesn’t require any plates, and very little clean-up.

Think tacos – but with a twist! All the deliciousness of eating a taco, combined with the crunchiness of cheesy Doritos, all in one convenient bag, which allows you to walk around while enjoying your meal – as the name suggests.

For this recipe, you can add as many or as few ingredients as you want depending on your tastebuds and what you have available to you!

INGREDIENTS:

-A bag of Doritos in your favourite flavour (my personal go-to is nacho cheese, but any kind will do!) You can do one big bag, or small ones for each person to personalize their own toppings.

-Ground beef (or ground chicken/turkey will work, too)

-Shredded cheese

-Diced tomatoes

-Chopped lettuce

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:

-Diced onions

-Taco seasoning

-Salsa

-Sour cream

-Beans

-Guacamole

-And any other yummy stuff you feel like!

STEPS:

The only real cooking required will be the ground beef. In a frying pan, you will want to add your beef (or any other meat of your choosing), and cook on medium heat until brown.

After your meat is cooked, it’s time to crush up your Doritos in the bag. This can be a fun activity for the kids! You want to get those chips into little crumbs, making it easier for a mouthful.

Cut and chop and dice all the vegetables that you are going to add in!

Then it’s time to combine everything together! Pour your meat into your Doritos, add all your favourite toppings, close that bag and shake, shake, shake! Grab a spoon, and dig in! You can eat your meal right out of your Doritos bag, making this a great recipe if you don’t feel like washing many dishes, and the convenience means you can take this delicious meal on the go with you!
